Gamers get first chance play Halo 4 at RTX in July

I think many of us will agree that the Halo 4 gameplay footage was one of brightest points during Microsoft's otherwise disappointing E3 press briefing. Judging from the gameplay it looks like 343 Industries has made tremendous strides with the popular franchise, both in terms of graphics and gameplay. I was already excited to see what Halo 4 was going to bring to the table, and now that I've seen it, I want to play. Well, the wait won't be much longer as Halo 4 will make its grand hands-on debut for consumers in less than a month.

Halo 4 will be playable for consumers, for the first time ever, at RTX, a two-day gaming event held in Austin, Texas. RTX will take place on July 7 and 9 giving gamers the first opportunity to play one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Halo 4.

It's unknown if consumers will be playing the same level shown during Microsoft's press conference, or if it will be some sort of multiplayer gameplay being shown off. Either way, it'll be nice to see how Halo 4 handles compared to the previous titles in the franchise.

RTX is the brainchild of Rooster Teeth, the team behind the longest running web series of all time, Red vs. Blue. Is it any surprise Microsoft waiting until this event to give some hands-on time with Halo 4? Rooster Teeth created RTX to bring game companies, gamers and online video lovers together at a place that's all about playing new games and creating new online content. This year is the first time that attendees will have the opportunity to play games. You can check out the full list of exhibitors confirmed to attend RTX this year.
