Issue two of the Max Payne 3 comic has alcohol, depression
I was thoroughly impressed by issue one of the Max Payne 3 comic book series that Rockstar Games and Marvel Comics put out recently. Sure, it was depressing as all hell, but it was still really, really good. And considering Max Payne 3 hadn't been released yet, it was a great way set the game up right before its launch.
Issue two is now available, and like the first comic, it's free to read. You can check it out on your browser or download it straight to your PC. I like the idea of owning things, so I immediately hit the download button, and I now have the snazzy PDF version of the appropriately titled "Hoboken Blues" right on my computer for my reading pleasure.
Issue two continues right where the first part left off, and it's even more depressing. Seriously. Don't believe me? What if I tell you that there are tons of drugs, booze binges, and criminals? I'm telling ya, it's hardcore stuff!
Admittedly, the comic has less of an impact now that I've actually played all the way through Max Payne 3 and know exactly what happens, but it's still worth a read. The writing is enjoyable, and the art is nice and gritty. Check it out!
