Fans of Prototype 2 can now download the new Official Sidekick app for iOS and Android.

The mobile app functions as a guide to New York Zero, helping players traverse the different zones, hunt down collectibles, and track game progress.

Players can try the Yellow Zone map for free; the Green and Red Zone maps can be unlocked via the combined map-pack upgrade.

Below is a list of features for both device versions:

• INTERACTIVE LEVEL MAPS will guide you to unearth every collectible across NYZ
• FOCUS YOUR HUNT with the ability to filter by zone and individual collectible type
• TRACK YOUR PROGRESS across all found collectibles and earned achievements/trophies
• EXPLORE THE POWER of Prototype 2's mutations and learn how to obtain them

So far users have reviewed the app as everything from "awesome" to "buggy," so whether you spend the $1.99 for the full download is up to you.

Prototype 2 released on April 24 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
