Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 free on Steam for the weekend

Activision is hosting a Free Weekend for popular FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Beginning Thursday, April 26 at 10am Pacific Time, you can download the PC version of the game which will give you access to the multiplayer portion of the game.

To get a head start on the free weekend, you can pre-load the game now and be ready for when it goes live. If you already have Steam, you can click here to begin pre-loading. Otherwise click here to install Steam first.

Below are the system requirements for Modern Warfare 3.

OS: Windows® XP/ Windows® Vista / Windows® 7
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 processor or better
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600GT / ATI® Radeon™ X1950 or better
DirectX®: DirectX® 9.0c or later
Hard Drive: 16 GB free hard drive space
Sound: DirectX® 9.0c or later
