NewsSales of Fire Emblem: Awakening are 'looking good' in Japan
Fire Emblem: Awakening for 3DS debuted in Japan last week, and a number of retailers have reported sales for the game: Most of the received copies are now in customers' hands.
“We’ve heard that others have been experiencing a scarcity of units, so we’ve added more, but still 90% of it was sold out,” said one retailer, who wonders whether Nintendo can ship out new supplies before Japan's approaching Golden Week, which typically causes a boost in video game sales overall.
“60% sold out and it’s looking good,” another commented, confirming that some fellow retailers have experienced as high as 80%.
The representatives interviewed also noted a range of age groups, from "old guys" to "middle/high school students."
