Nintendo to release 3DS apps for Pokemon Black and White 2

For fans who expected Pokemon Black and White 2 to drop on the 3DS, only to learn the games would be releasing for DS, a few apps should help justify the unnecessary upgrade. Nintendo announced the platform exclusives at their Nintendo Direct conference.

One augmented reality app will let players search for Pokemon in their own homes and then capture them for their collection. Nintendo also plans to update the Pokedex for the newer handheld.

Although the apps have only been confirmed for Japan so far, we'll probably see them in the US when the sequels hit stores.
