NewsKid Icarus: Uprising sold more than 135,000 copies in its first week
According to the NPD Group, Kid Icarus: Uprising, which released for the 3DS on March 23, performed well. Nintendo supported the statement by reporting its sales figures for the game's first week: over 135,000 copies.
To provide some perspective, Super Mario 3D Land pushed 100,000 copies the same month, and Mario Kart 7 managed a slightly higher 118,000. The games arrived in November and December of last year, respectively, and sold a strong one million by January.
While Kid Icarus can claim little of the explosive popularity that Nintendo's flagship series enjoys, the game has received fairly healthy review scores despite its complicated control scheme.
