NewsNintendo will not be at Gamescom 2012
Gamescom 2012 is set to take place this summer, but it looks like Nintendo Germany will not be attending the major gaming press event in Europe. According to VG247, the company will instead showcase the 3DS, Wii, and Wii U across several different, smaller events.
"Whilst Gamescom is a fantastic show, we have taken the decision not to attend this year’s event," revealed Nintendo. "We are planning a number of sampling events throughout Germany in which our fans will have the opportunity to play upcoming Nintendo 3DS, Wii and Wii U titles."
Nintendo Germany has made its presence felt at every Gamescom, so it's a bit perplexing that it won't be at this year's event in August. That said, it should be pretty interesting seeing what the company does throughout its multiple events. By then we'll have already gotten through E3, where we're expecting some big Wii U details, which means we'll hopefully see some major games on display in Germany.
