NewsMMA champ Georges St-Pierre collaborating on Sleeping Dogs
Square Enix today announced a partnership with MMA champion Georges St-Pierre.
The highly-acclaimed mixed martial arts fighter, most known as "GSP", will collaborate on the development of Sleeping Dogs. While he has been working on multiple elements in Sleeping Dogs, St-Pierre's primary focus will be on combat.
“Working with Square Enix has been an incredible opportunity,” said St-Pierre. “I’m really impressed to see how the hand-to-hand combat in the game is shaping up – it’s been a great experience being involved.”
Sleeping Dogs is a gritty open world cop drama set in the stylized, high action city of Hong Kong. Players will take on the role of undercover cop Wei Shen. Using an "intuitive and imaginative" combat system, Sleeping Dogs will feature brutal combat where players can perform an "extensive" set of vicious martial arts moves.
“When it comes to professional fighting, names don’t get much bigger than GSP,” said Square Enix London Studios general manager Lee Singleton. “We are thrilled with the expertise that GSP brings to Sleeping Dogs."
Sleeping Dogs will be available for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
