NewsCapcom's Yoshinori Ono on health leave due to hospitalization
For fighting game fanatics, Yoshinori Ono has become a household name. Unfortunately, due to a recent health scare, the producer will be taking a break from Capcom. Sony and Capcom simply stated that Ono was "heavily deteriorated," and that he'll be away from the Street Fighter series until his health is back to normal.
After the official word hit the Internet, Ono Tweeted to his followers saying, "I'll refrain from work for current job for a while. Another person in charge of SF series for a while. Of course I'll constant support to it.” He continued, "I'll be out of the limelight as fighting game series for a while. I'll think about the new future of fighting game after this. ;D”
We wish Ono the best as he nurses his way back to full health. He is one of the industry's most talented producers, and it's a shame that he's having to take a break, especially after Street Fighter X Tekken's recent success.
