Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed III PC should be played with controller
The crazies are running rampant today, folks! First, we got the news that the box art for Risen 2 was being censored by the ESRB for sporting the color red. Then, Silicon Knights President Denis Dyack said used games were killing the video game industry. Now, Assassin's Creed III is causing concern amongst the PC gaming community.
According to a preview on GameSpy, while Ubisoft's upcoming action-adventure title is certainly getting the PC treatment, it won't be getting dedicated keyboard and mouse controls. Instead, gamers are being forced (sarcasm, people) to use a controller ... to play a game that anyone can see is built for traditional gamepad support!
"We’re definitely supporting PC,” stated Assassin's Creed III creative director Alex Hutchinson.. “We love PC, but I think it’ll be PC with a controller. I don’t see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin’s Creed, you have a controller."
In all honesty, I agree with the guy. Yes, there are certain PC games that are perfect for the keyboard and mouse, but there are also others that should be played with a good old-fashioned controller. Still, not everyone will agree with me. And just to show you to what absurd lengths those individuals have gone, why not check out this petition, which is fighting to change the world by having Ubisoft add "proper PC support" to Assassin's Creed III. Ugh ...
