Theatrhythm Final Fantasy announced for North America, Europe, and PAL territories

Square Enix Ltd. has confirmed the cutesy music game Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for release in North America, Europe, and PAL territories this summer.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for the Nintendo 3DS collects the scores from the entirety of the RPG series, which turns 25 this year. Indieszero, which produced Retro Game Challenge and other titles, is developing the rhythm game, which is already out in Japan.

Players can assemble a party of four of their favorite heroes from the series to play through the game's three stage styles: Field, Battle, and Event.

Given the popularity of Final Fantasy in North America, we were bound to see an announcement for release on our shores sooner or later—and now the game's official Facebook page has confirmed the suspicion. After Square Enix's disastrous FFXIV Online and the disappointing FFXIII, the series could use a serious boost.

No specific release date has been set, but watch for more details in the coming months.
