NewsBaldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition landing on iPad this summer
Recently Atari, Wizards of the Coast, and Overhaul Games teased enhanced editions of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II, but they were tight-lipped on the details. Now the companies have announced that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is coming to the Apple App Store in summer 2012.
The team of artists, programmers, and designers at Overhaul Games are remastering the RPG, which debuted in 1998. The Enhanced Edition for iPad runs on an improved version of the Infinity Engine and contains Baldur's Gate, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion, and fresh content including a new adventure and party member.
If you're already scowling at the news, keep in mind that this announcement bears no mention of Baldur's Gate II or its expansion, Throne of Bhaal. Could a second release be in-the-works, with a possibility for additional platforms? Let's hope so.
