Despite both critical acclaim and millions of copies sold, some people just don't find Mass Effect 3, BioWare's epic ending to their successful sci-fi trilogy, "up to par" with their expectations. Since its launch, a substantial amount of fans have rallied together to demand BioWare to change the game's ending. The group has raised over $70,000 to back their effort, all proceeds going to Child's Play, and it's caught the attention of the developer.

BioWare, known for its incredible fan support, has responded humbly to the fans' outcry, stating several times that they're "listening." Today, though, BioWare has released a statement on their Facebook saying that they're "uncertain" if they'll indeed change Mass Effect 3's ending:

"We are aware that there are concerns about a recent post from this account regarding the ending of the game. In this post it was stated that at this time we do not have plans to change the ending.

We would like to clarify that we are actively and seriously taking all player feedback into consideration and have ruled nothing out. At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending. Your feedback and opinions are of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any confusion this has caused.

Our top priority regarding this discussion is to keep communication with you, our loyal fans, open and productive."

The developer has stated several times, even before the title's release, that Shepard's story would extend past the game's ending, so we're curious if DLC could truly "end" this epic thrill ride. Either way, Mass Effect 3 is an amazing addition to the series, and it's a shame that it's been receiving bad press because some feel they're higher up than the company who's brought us this outstanding franchise.
