NewsIs an Elder Scrolls MMO in the works?
It seems that Bethesda and Zenimax are working on an MMO based on the Elder Scrolls franchise. The leaked info comes courtesy of an anonymous source who reported some major details to Tom's Guide.
Elder Scrolls Online, as it has been supposedly titled, will take place hundreds of years before Skyrim, during a period known as the Second Era. Players will be able to take control of characters from three different factions, all of which are based on beast races. You'll be able to play as "a lion, a dragon, and a bird of prey."
According to Tom's Guide, it's very possible that Elder Scrolls Online will be officially revealed in May. Additionally, it's being rumored that an E3 "presence" can be expected in three months at the major gaming expo in Los Angeles.
We've know for some time that Zenimax was planning an MMO. That's certainly no secret, and really, The Elder Scrolls would be a fitting series. I don't play many MMOs--or any, actually--because I'm not a fan of the genre. I did, however, recently start playing Skyrim (finally!), and I have to say, the idea of an Elder Scrolls MMO is very interesting to me. But I probably won't play it anyway.
