News343 Industries to not hold Halo 4 multiplayer beta
Since last year's abominable VGAs, which revealed Master Chief's upcoming return in Halo 4, fans of the Halo franchise been have scavenging for new details, and chances to play the title early (note last month's fake Halo 4 beta fiasco). 343 Industries have stated that the upcoming shooter will feature "notable" changes in multiplayer, but according to the developer, there will no public multiplayer beta.
343's Frank O' Connor, the franchise’s development director, spoke on the team's decision to not hold a public beta during a recent Halo Waypoint Q &A:
"While we are testing Halo 4 code, gameplay, and systems at significant scale to get excellent data, input, and feedback, we are focused on polishing and shipping our experience for the duration of the year, and splitting resources to manage and build a beta is not on our schedule."
Fans should not worry that the developer is behind schedule, and thus not holding a beta, though. O' Connor added that the entire single-player is completed, and playable from start to finish. It is interesting, though, that 343 is taking a different route from Bungie's "norm," which unleashed betas for both Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. Hopefully this extra time will allow 343 to polish the final product and deliver a fresh experience (really, we all want to fall back in love with Halo).
