Mass Effect has been out for two days now. Citizens of the Galactic Alliance have been fighting the reaper threat since then. But maybe that's not enough for you. Don't worry - Funimation's got you covered. UNimation in association with Bioware, T.O Entertainment and Production IG (best known for Ghost in the Shell) will be collaborating on a prequel to Mass Effect 3 titled, Mass Effect: Paragon Lost.

The project recently launched a website with a logo teaser and the following description of the project:

Fans of the ground-breaking Mass Effect franchise shouldn’t miss this stunning motion picture experience born of an epic collaboration between the legendary Bioware and visionary Production IG (Ghost in the Shell, Kill Bill: Vol.1).

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is the prequel to the highly-anticipated Mass Effect 3 and follows the early career of Alliance Marine, James Vega. Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes. Learn more about the Mass Effect universe with an unprecedented glimpse into the haunted past of Mass Effect’s newest hero!

Should be an interesting look at James, to be sure. What do you guys think? Do you like video game based animes? Let us know in the comments below!
