NewsAssassin's Creed III headed to Wii U
Remember when Nintendo said Assassin's Creed would be on the Wii U? During that E3 presser last year, no one knew which Assassin's Creed game was getting ported over to the upcoming console. Woulld it be Brotherhood? Revelations? Assassin's Creed II? No one really knew for sure.
Well, now it's been confirmed that Assassin's Creed III will be the game landing on the Wii U. According to a press release from Ubisoft, the action-adventure title is slated for launch on Nintendo's new machine sometime in late 2012.
Still no details on how the game will take advantage of the Wii U's tablet controller, though. Considering this will be an early Wii U game, I think the functions may be very basic. You know, interface and item customization--that kind of stuff.
In any case, it's great to see third-party support on a Nintendo system. I mean, Assassin's Creed III is a pretty big game, and the fact that Ubisoft has confirmed a Wii U version is great news for Nintendo and any potential Wii U owners. Here's hoping other big publishers and developers make some announcements for the new Nintendo home console.
