NewsAngry Birds to launch into Finnish theme park
Finnish theme park, Särkänniemi Adventure Park, has plans to add a Angry Birds themed section to their park.
Angry Birds Land, as it's being called, opens this summer in the home country of Angry Birds developer Rovio Entertainment.
Inpsired by the casual mobile game Angry Birds, the themed land will include rides and games all based off of the game's loveable characters. There will also be "Magic Places", or areas where "activities and the gaming world meet."
"We wanted to create a unique themed area and associate it with a strong and well-known brand," says Miikka Seppälä, CEO of the theme park.
"The Angry Birds characters were born in Finland but known worldwide by people of all ages. This is a perfect fit for our Adventure Park. Our goal is to motivate the fans, both adults and children, to exercise and enjoy the outdoors."
Angry Birds Lands is just the latest marketing venture for Rovio Entertainment, who is already taking advantage of the game's booming success with things like movie appearances and plush toys.
The company plans to expand on the popularity with the recently announced game, Angry Birds Space, which Rovio describes as "the biggest game launch since the original Angry Birds."
The new game will introduce many new characters and all-new gravity physics. In addition to launching birds in space, the game will include a variety of other gameplay elements including slow motion, lightspeed destruction, and other new features.
