NewsA look back at the successful launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Old Republic may not have been the WoW killer everyone predicted it to be, but there's no denying it has been an incredible hit. Since it's launch about two months ago, Star Wars: The Old Republic has grown to about 1.7 million "active subscribers" - as of EA's Q3 FY12 financial report earlier this month.
SWTOR was a smash hit at launch, becoming the fastest-selling MMO of all time with over 1 million players beginning their Star Wars saga in the first 24 hours. Honoring the game's successful debut, BioWare released a video featuring a few members of the SWTOR community sharing their experiences with the game.
While Star Wars: The Old Republic is still in its infancy, BioWare has huge plans moving forward including implementing a brand new legacy system, new flashpoints and operations, and much more!
