Super Mario Crossover 2.0 has been released

Chances are, you've already heard of Exploding Rabbit's absolutely genius flash game, Super Mario Crossover. If there is a chance however that you haven't, this is the best time to go check it out.

For the uninitiated, Super Mario Crossover is essentially Super Mario Bros. with the ability to play various iconic Nintendo characters. If you're thinking, big deal, just try playing the game as anyone other than Mario, and you'll see just how the dynamics of the game change.

My favorite at the moment is playing as Bill from Contra, although the game lets you play as Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Simon Belmont, Mega Man, Bass (from Mega Man), the aforementioned Bill from Contra, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden fame, and Sophia III from Blaster Master.

The updated 2.0 version of Super Mario Crossover includes some new additions and some awesome hidden treats as well. The game now supports three different versions of the game, that can either look like original NES graphics, the updated SNES graphics, or Game Boy graphics. Also many new characters can be accessed by pressing the X button when on the character select screen, though different characters are applicable depending on the graphics engine you choose.

Even the options page is fun to mess around with as you can set various skins such as Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World for Gameboy, and even different enemy skins from those games as well. This game truly appeals to every one of my gamer senses. If you grew up on the Nintendo, you owe it to yourself to immediately check this game out, and if you're feeling generous, you can help out Exploding Rabbit and donate so they can keep making this game even bigger and better.

What are you waiting for, GO PLAY IT NOW!
