Twisted Metal demo no longer available on PS3
It appears there may be some miscommunication between Sony and Eat Sleep Play's David Jaffe on the Twisted Metal demo. Yesterday, game director David Jaffe told fans the Twisted Metal demo would be extended until February 13th, a day before the game's Valentine's Day release.
The reason for this extended play time had to due with a "matchmaking error" many PS3 users experienced when trying to access the online portion of the demo. While still able to play the single player Challenge mode, the online Nuke and Deathmatch mode were almost impossible to try for the majority of the time the demo was available.
The reponse was to extend the demo, but it looks like that may not be happening. After a user on the IGN forums posted that he could no longer find the Twisted Metal demo on the PS Store following the system's update, we decided to take a look for ourselves. We attempted to start up our downloaded Twisted Metal demo and promptly received an error message that read, "The content has expired and is no longer available."
Apparently we aren't the only ones to hit this latest snag. A follower informed Jaffe last night htat he tried to play the game last night, but it said it was "no longer available" also.
Unfortunately, Jaffe couldn't provide much of a reason or explanation.
"I did say the demo was extended, that is what I was told. Clearly tha basterdz lied to me!!!:) Really not sure why it's not up," Jaffe responded.
As I said before, we just tried and got the same error. We have reached out to Sony for a response, but please let us know if it is or is not working for you.
