Classic game studio Hudson is no more

Posted by: Vito Gesualdi

Game studio Hudson Soft has been developing games since way back in the NES era, dominating Japanese sales charts with classics like Adventure Island, Bomberman and Star Soldier. Sadly though, the company never seemed to find its footing in the ever evolving game industry, with flops like Bomberman: Act Zero failing to return them to their former glory.

Now it seems Hudson's days are done, parent company Konami choosing to absorb the studio entirely. While this means we may continue to see classic Hudson properties make an appearance in the future under the Konami label (fingers crossed for a nextgen AirZonk), Hudson Soft's legacy has essentially ended.

Let us remember the good times, with this video of Hudson spokesman Master Takahashi splitting a watermelon with his legendary button-mashing abilities.
