NewsPlayStation Vita sells 42,000 units in 4th week, slow software sales
In the fourth week since its release in Japan, PlayStation Vita sales have begun to level out. Media Create Sales for the first week of 2012 have reported Sony sold 42,915 PS Vita units - about the same as last week.
It's good to see that sales remain about on par with, if not slightly better than, previous weeks sales. While 42,000 in sales is steady with last week's results, though I'm sure Sony was hoping for higher numbers.
At CES this week Sony revealed that 500,000 PlayStation Vita units have been sold in Japan as of January 5th. While it's a decent number, it's nothing compared to the sales of its biggest rival - the Nintendo 3DS.
The Nintendo 3DS had another strong week in sales with over 240,000 units sold with four of the top five selling software titles.
The Vita, on the other hand, had another slow week of software sales with no titles breaking the top 20 in sales.
