NewsSWTOR For Mac Update
BioWare’s Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk talked to Joystiq about Star Wars: The Old Republic. After this interview, it seems like the BioWare team is looking to add a Mac version of SWTOR in the near future. While the game is technically playable on Mac already with the Windows partition, the team noted that this is not the ideal situation.
What BioWare plans to do is to hold off on the Mac version until the game has stabilized from launch. With many happy customers there are still several who are not satisfied from bugs and glitches. The priority seems to get this remedied and THEN start on the Mac port.
That's definitely one of the things we're looking at next. We want to get this launch under our belt and everything stabilized and happy, and then we'll look at other platforms, and that's obviously one of the first ones.
The duo mentioned that, "We know there's a big Mac audience of BioWare fans ... we know that's an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience." So if you are a Mac user and you have been waiting for SWTOR, you have not been ignored. It seems that BioWare just wants to fix what is live before crossing over to the next platform. They want to address as wide an audience as possible.
While there isn’t a release date yet for the Mac port, BioWare is leading us to believe that it is in fact coming.
