Sony Claims The Last Guardian Not Yet Cancelled

Earlier today we brought the unfortunate news that GameStop was refunding pre-orders for Team Ico's The Last Guardian, claiming the game itself had been cancelled. Thankfully, official Sony sources have confirmed that the game lives on.

"The game is still in development and has not been cancelled" said Patrick Seybold, director of corporate communications for SCEA, said in a statement. Apparently GameStop simply jumped the gun, noting that the game had no official release date and choosing to remove it from their databases. This is what prompted the automated calls to pre-order customers, as removing the game from the database did indeed cancel all existing pre-orders. GameStop says they will re-instate the game to their system once a clear release date becomes available.
