Puella Magi Madoka Magica is one of the most popular anime series to come out of Japan in recent memory, having earned a wide fan following in the states despite lacking an American distributor. The series tells the tale of magical girls fighting witches, with a dark psychological twist which makes the series a bit more mature than say Sailor Moon. Madoka Magica PSP looks to translate this crazy world into game form, and according to an unnamed Japanese magazine, the game will be re-imagining some aspects of the plot.

Most notably, series character Mami Tomoe returns as a witch, though fans of the series will know that in episode 3... well, we won't spoil it. Crunchyroll also reports:

"The game is being produced by Namco-Bandai in collaboration with Nitro+ and SHAFT while character designs will be handled by Gekidan Inu Curry who will also design new witches exclusive to the game, Gen Urobochi will be handling scripts, while Yuusuke Tomizawa of GOD EATER fame and Yoshinao Doi from Steins;Gate will handle general production."

Definitely looks like a pretty talented team. Will you be importing this one?
