Kinect Star Wars Rated "Teen" By ESRB

The delayed Kinect Star Wars game has officially been rated "Teen" due to mild language, mild suggestive themes, and violence.

The ESRB has released a rating summary of the game:

"In this action game, based on the Star Wars universe, players use their body movements to perform activities that include dance tournaments, podracing, and Jedi duels. In some mini-games, players use light sabers and telekinetic powers to battle fantastical creatures (e.g., aliens and robots) in melee-style combat; enemies collapse to the ground when killed."

The majority of the summary focuses on the laser fire and large explosions. The ESRB explained, "Another sequence allows players to control a giant creature that rampages through city streets to attack civilians; cries of pain and crunching sounds can be heard as humanoid characters are thrown, stomped on, and eaten."

My personal favorite is the dancing mini-game, which they say "some female characters perform suggestive moves" and "wear revealing outfits".

They cite the suggestive moves as gyrating their hips and buttocks. Also, the words "damn" and "hell" can be heard in the dialogue.

Kinect Star Wars was originally scheduled to release this year, but was delayed "beyond holiday 2011." This was unfortunate because of the planned Star Wars Xbox 360 bundle which featured a R2D2-themed Xbox which played customized R2D2 sounds.
