PlayStation 3 users who have purchased Battlefield 3 can now redeem their voucher for their free copy of Battlefield 1943.  Originally intended as a bonus for those who purchase Battlefield 3 on PS3, a free copy of Battlefield 1943 was reportedly missing inside PS3 copies of the game.

The shipping mishap led to an agreement between Sony and EA in which all Battlefield 3 DLC would be available for PS3 users "one week earlier" than the Xbox 360 or PC versions.  Of course, they would still have to pay for the DLC, so it really wasn't a fair compensation.  This caused an uproar, and eventually a class-action lawsuit filed by fans.

Shortly after, EA came to their senses and decided to issue free copies of Battlefield 1943, as they originally had said they would.

Now, for those who own Battlefield 3 on PS3, they can finally redeem their Battlefield 1943 voucher.

"There have been some misunderstandings around Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield 3. To address this we are making Battlefield 1943 available free of charge to owners of Battlefield 3 on the PS3. Vouchers will be made available for these customers via this site for a minimum of six months," EA informed users.

Battlefield 1943 PlayStation 3 vouchers are now available for PlayStation Network in Europe and America.  PS3 users in Japan will have to waite until December 17th to get their free voucher.  Vouchers are region-specific.

To redeem your voucher login to EA's Battlefield 3 site with your Origin ID.  You’ll get a Battlefield 1943 code sent to your email address and you can redeem the code in the PlayStation Network store.
