According to the latest Skyrim update from Bethesda, which focused primarily on the PS3 version, the current 1.3 update is in "final testing" and is expected to be released this week.

Originally announced earlier this week, the "incremental update" is anticipated to release on PC first, and then hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later this week.  The patch will address a number of issues that have plagued users since the release of update 1.2, like the broken magic resistance and the amazing, backwards flying dragon.  Full release notes will be made available once the update is officially released.

In the updated blog post, Bethesda acknowledged, "While the 1.2 update fixed the long-term play issues for most PS3 users, we are aware that is not the case for some."

"Right now we know it’s not one thing, but a combination of smaller ones that some folks are seeing, but others are not. Some seem to be the PS3 autosaving in the background (you can turn that off), some may be SPU AI updates, and some may relate to dynamic system memory allocation."

Unfortunately, the current 1.3 patch does not fix this, but Bethesda did confirm it will be in future updates.

"These fixes are not in the current 1.3 update that is in final testing, but will be in future ones."

"We understand how frustrating it can be when your game is having issues, and we thank all of you for your continued feedback and patience. Rest assured we take your gameplay experience seriously and will continue working on this until it’s resolved."

Skyrim fans, on all platforms, have shown remarkable patience as Bethesda continues to work on and fix bugs.  In fact, the majority of fans continue to stick by Bethesda, as made evident by the support shown in a recent forum post asking "if you will buy the next Bethesda game".

Bethesda has yet to release any official date for the patch, but did expect it sometime this week.  The most recent post did confirm that the patch was in "final testing".  Once it clears and rolls out for PC, console players should expect it to get certified by Microsoft and Sony before a release.
