Today, Gearbox and 2K announced Borderlands 2 will officially be released on September 18, 2012 in the United States.  Look for more details here.

Online retail giant Amazon.com might have slipped up and leaked the Borderlands 2 release date.

While opening up pre-orders for 2K Games' Borderlands 2, Amazon has also posted the release date for the game as June 30th, 2012.

In addition to posting the release date, Amazon is offering a $10 credit bonus when you pre-order the much-anticipated sequel.  If you pre-order Borderlands 2 for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 you get a $10 Amazon credit good towards the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.
