Minecraft Fans Defend Yogscast

Minecraft fans who attended MineCon have come to the defense of Yogscast, a YouTube group made famous in part by their popular Minecraft videos.  Lewis, Simon, and Hannah, who were selected to host an autograph time and main sessions, were recently publicly blasted by Minecraft developer Markus 'Notch' Persson via Twitter for their actions at Minecon.

It only took a day after Minecon for Notch to make public an unfortunate situation that arose from the otherwise successful convention.  The drama began when Notch slipped in a Tweet, "We also learned who not to work with at Minecon. Shame.. :/".  From there, the drama ensued and the series of events of what happened began unfolding.

According to Notch, "Yogscast repeatedly insulted people, talked behind their backs, refused to cooperate, and acted like total spoiled divas nonstop."

For the next 10 or so minutes Notch publicly slammed Yogscast revealing, "They called us "a bunch of nerds who don't know how to run a company", demanded that we pay them to come here (nobody else got paid)."

The real thing that ticked him off however, was a supposed f-bomb Yogscast said towards a kid.  "A kid wanted them to sign something I had signed, and they said they'd cross it out and put "fuck you" there instead."

Yogscast still hasn't issued a formal response to the situation, but did promise,"An Official statement/Vlog will be released when Simon, Lewis and Hannah return from Las Vegas to clarify what has happened. Hopefully this will clear everything up for everyone."

Today, however, it looks like Yogscast prepared for some sort of announcement.  In what looks to be preparation, or stalling, the official Yogscast Twitter retweeted fan responses to the situation which defended Yogcast's behavior at Minecon.

"I volunteered during the last autograph session. Lewis, Simon and Hannah behaved impeccably throughout," said LeeTron.

Another fan added, "The @YOGSCAST guy's and hannah were all so polite to me. They made me feel so welcome at minecon. They all signed my mousepad! I love them."

Yogscast even went so far as to retweet a video of them signing and interacting with a fan during their autograph session.

Judging from that they look professional and friendly, but we don't know what happened behind closed doors.  Minty stated on the Twitter that the Yogscast guys were "now sleeping but will comment soon."

Now these were just a few tweets Yogscast retweeted, but then again, we still don't know exactly what went on.  All we have are the stories told by each side - and right now we only have Notch's.  While these are legitimate fan's tweets, Yogscast could've pick and chose which ones to retweet.

To be honest, this whole thing has probably been blown out of proportion.  Notch tweeted shortly after, "I'm sorry about the ugly public airing of dirty laundry."  Though I question his sincerity behind the apology.

As one fan said, "What happened in vegas stays in vegas?  minecraft is about love and friendship and they are about mistakes and forgivness."  Let it go guys.  Don't ruin Minecon over a stupid feud.
