NewsNew Call of Duty Game Planned for 2012
Not even a full day after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Activision is already announcing a new Call of Duty game. In response that Modern Warfare 3 has received the largest day-one shipments in gaming history, Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick released the following statement:
"As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly-anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing"
Honestly, is anybody really surprised by this? I haven't even experienced this full game and now I have to already think of the new one.
Staying true to their one Call of Duty title a year ritual, it was pretty obvious from the sales of Modern Warfare 3 that another title was in the pipeline. Of course, with developers switching every year it looks to be Treyarchs turn at the plate. Will they strike out with fans in the same way IW and Sledgehammer have? Even if they do, all that matters is sales and profits, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 looks on track to set records in every category.
