Battlefield 3 has managed to move past Modern Warfare 2, becoming the second most played game on Xbox LIVE for the week of October 31st.  According to Microsoft's Major Nelson, it still hasn't surplanted Black Ops as the most played, but it has improved on it's 3rd place debut from the prior week.

Many attributed Battlefield 3's lack to overthrow Black Ops and MW2 last week as not being released in the US at the time.  But with it being released for a full week, and now Modern Warfare 3 releasing yesterday, it's safe to assume Call of Duty will remain the top dog for the time being.

The top 5 most played games on Xbox LIVE is rounded out by Gears of War 3 and FIFA 12.
