REPORT: Next Xbox to be Smaller, Cheaper than Xbox 360

While the next Xbox is inevitable, Microsoft has kept quiet on any details, including the development process. Nonetheless, a respectable Microsoft leak blogger, MS Nerd, has dropped several details about the "Xbox 720," including that it will be "smaller and cheaper than the Xbox 360."

The future console, notoriously known as the Xbox 720, is alledgely codenamed "loop," and will be "much" smaller than the current Xbox 360 Slim model. The blogger, who has broke several Xbox 360 stories in the past, claims the system will cost less to produce in the hopes for achieving "higher Kinect adoption." In addition, the console will utilize Windows 9, though it will be modified for gaming entertainment purposes.

Rounding out the details, MS Nerd stated, "It will use a Zune HD-like hardware platform—a  'main' processor with multiple dedicated assistive cores for graphics, AI, physics, sound, networking, encryption and sensors. It will be custom designed by Microsoft and two partners based on the ARM architecture."

While we are far off from Microsoft announcing anything, the best bet of any Xbox 720 details is most likely E3 2012. Keep your eyes peeled!
