Thomas Was Alone Announcement Trailer Lands
Last year, developer Mike Bithell spent 24 hours across two days working on a minimalist puzzler titled Thomas Was Alone. The game had an interesting art design, enjoyable gameplay, and a meaningful little concept of friendship behind it. Thomas Was Alone was, for all intents and purposes, a feel-good tale that told its story through its gameplay rather than through long-winded narrative, and it was incredibly memorable.
Since the release of the free Flash game, Bithell has been working on updating and expanding the game for a much bigger release. Yesterday, we got a closer glimpse of Thomas Was Alone courtesy of an announcement trailer straight from Bithell. All I have to say is this: be excited.
The trailer shows off some interesting changes to the original game. The first thing that caught my attention was the slightly updated animation. Additionally, some environmental elements such as rain have been thrown in, adding to the overall vibe of the game. And if the music in the trailer is any indication of what we can expect from the full release, we're all in store for a real treat.
Be sure to check out the trailer for Thomas Was Alone, and keep tabs on the development of the game on Bithell's dev blog. PC and Mac users will be able to snag Thomas Was Alone in April 2012. This is one to watch out for!
