EA/DICE and Activision have been taking turns poking jabs at each other since Battlefield 3 was first announced.  Most recently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 developer Glen Schofield called out Battlefield 3 for the amount of bugs in their open beta.  In a Tweet response (which has since been removed), the SLedgehammer Games boss responded to a fan who compared Modern Warfare 3's 1000 person Call of Duty XP play test to the eight million fans who participated in Battlefield 3.

"We had well over a 1000," Schofield said.  "Infity Ward has years of experience with the biggest multiplayer ever.  I surely didn't see bugs like I saw elseware."

Granted, he didn't specifically mention Battlefield 3, but judging from the constant back and forth between these two companies, it can be assumed he was referring to BF3.Tod

Today, it appears he realized his mistake and issued an apology to DICE for criticising Battlefield 3.  Well, about as close of an apology as you can get out of a rival.  "Bad day yesterday," he said.  "My deepest apologies 4 bugs comment.  I know about new engines, been there  a dozen of times.  No disrespect intended."

DICE has repeatedly attributed the bugs in Battlefield 3's open beta to using "month old software".

Despite the jabs, both Infinity Ward and DICE have expressed their admiration and respect for each other's games.
