New Space-Based Content Introduced to Star
Wars Galaxies this Month

New Space-Based Quests, Collections and a
Heroic Encounter Add a Host of New Content and Rewards in Chapter 8: The Nova
Orion Crisis

LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment today
announced the release of Chapter 8: The Nova Orion Crisis to Star Wars Galaxies
subscribers, featuring a host of new content set in the farthest reaches of
space, including new quests, collections and a heroic encounter.

Not since the game’s first expansion, "Jump to
Lightspeed,” has so much space-based content been added to Star Wars Galaxies.
Through this new Chapter, both Rebel and Imperial pilots will take on
challenging content for great rewards.

  • New Heroic Encounter Set on a Star Destroyer
An Imperial captain has gone rogue and taken his Star Destroyer with him.
Having jettisoned most of his crew, he flees with a small contingent of
fiercely loyal followers. Imperial players work for the Empire to recover the
ship; Rebels will take this vessel for themselves by any means necessary.
  • New Quest Hub for Master-Level Pilots
Secrets and violence are tearing apart Nova Orion Industries, a starship
research and development company. A tragic misunderstanding is at the heart of
the rift, as the company’s founders, Jonas Nova and Garik Orion, have created
their own factions within the organization. Master pilots can earn respect and
rewards by allying with a faction and completing its quests.
  • More Than 50 New Space-Based Collections In
October, Star Wars Galaxies introduced a collection book interface that allows
players to keep track of all they have done in the game. For every collection
series completed, players receive high-value items including weapons, armor,
home décor, and even skill bonuses. Chapter 8: The Nova Orion Crisis offers an
additional 50 new space-based collections that will send players around the
    galaxy to complete.
  • New Spaceships for Players
Four new spaceship schematics will be available for players in Chapter 8, each
obtained as a reward for completing a collection. Three of the ships: Rebel
Gunboat, Imperial Gunboat and Neutral Gunboat, will be fitted with turrets and
will allow a group of up to eight players to board them simultaneously,
providing the perfect defense for those dangerous runs through the outer rim.
The fourth ship, the Naboo Royal Fighter is a single-player ship, but is the
top light fighter starship in the galaxy.
