Limbo Headed to PS3?

Xbox Live Arcade is home to many reputable exclusives, but if I had to name one game that stands out in every conceivable way, it would be Limbo. The side-scrolling puzzle platformer from indie developer Playdead has captured the imaginations of countless gamers thanks to its gameplay and rich art style. And now it seems like PlayStation 3 owners may be in store for some dark and chilling adventures of their own.

Earlier today, the Korean Rating Board posted info for Limbo on their official website. My Korean isn’t very good (or existent, for that matter), so I can’t say I know the hard details about the game and its rating. According to the site, however, it has been rated for gamers 15 years of age and older.

Though Limbo may be published by Microsoft for Xbox 360, the IP belongs to Playdead, so they can do whatever they like with their license. This port was also hinted at not too long ago when Playdead CEO Dino Patti stated that the company was open to any opportunities. Additionally, Playdead is currently working on a new franchise. It’s good to see awesome indie devs hard at work.

Limbo was easily one of the most beloved games of 2010. It managed to capture countless fans with its mysterious story and characters, and it offered quality gameplay that made it a favorite among Xbox 360 owners. Here’s hoping the game sees a release on North American PlayStation 3 consoles and achieves similar success.
