Final Fantasy XIII-2 Announced For Next Winter

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be getting an official sequel for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Final Fantasy XIII has shipped six million units worldwide since its North American launch in March 2010, and Final Fantasy XIII-2 will build upon the game’s “best aspects”, as well as including a new story and an evolved battle system.

According to Square Enix: Since the release of FINAL FANTASY in 1987, this unique RPG series continues to showcase the spectacular visuals, highly imaginative worlds and rich stories leading the industry and earning the highest accolades from users around the world. The series have so far achieved a cumulative shipment of over 97 million units worldwide (as of September 2010).
