Bungie Hits 15,000 Halo: Reach Cheaters With Credit Reset

It’s a bad week to be a cheater. Following the news that Blizzard has banned over 5,000 players who violated their end user license agreements in StarCraft II, word comes from Bungie that they have reset the credits of approximately 15,000 players who abused an exploit in a Halo: Reach Challenge.

Bungie says that the exploit allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via intentional network manipulation (i.e. disconnects.) In addition to having their credits reset, cheaters will also receive a one day credit earning ban.

Bungie is also promising “a more comprehensive pass” in the coming week as they grow more confident in their automated banning system’s accuracy.
