CHICAGO – December 19 2003 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer, today announced the launch of the official website for The Suffering. Players can now step into the seedy underbelly of a maximum security penitentiary that is The Suffering by visiting www.thesuffering.midway.com.
The Suffering revolutionizes the horror genre by combining intense action-oriented game-play with an authentic prison environment haunted by ghoulish apparitions. Traverse the intense and shocking world of a maximum security penitentiary in the role of Torque, an inmate accused of a brutal crime he may or may not have committed. Trapped in this ghastly environment and beset by horrific creatures, Torque is constantly challenged to stay alive and wield all manner of weapons in his fight to escape the nightmare that has been unleashed on Abbott Penitentiary.
The Suffering will be available on March 8, 2004 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft.
