Impossible Creatures Pre-Order Program Begins Today at Select Retailers

Pre-Order Customers Receive Special Edition Trial Version

Microsoft Game Studios today announced an exclusive Impossible Creatures pre-order program at participating retailers. Developed by Relic Entertainment, Inc., this real-time strategy (RTS) game can now be pre-ordered online at EBGames.com, GameStop.com, Amazon.com and gohastings.com. The in-store pre-order programs at Electronics Boutique, GameStop and Hastings will start on Friday, December 20.

Those who pre-order a copy of the game at these select retailers will receive an Impossible Creatures special edition trial version which includes five bonus animals: the Garfish, Horse, Raven, Walrus and Warthog. The animals can then be transferred into the retail version of Impossible Creatures, thus allowing for more than 16,000 additional creature combinations.

The retail version of Impossible Creatures will be released on January 7, 2003 for an estimated price of $44.95 (U.S.)

Set in the 1930s, Impossible Creatures is a 3-D RTS game that pits players against an evil madman in a desperate campaign across a chain of remote and diverse islands. Using Earth's most formidable animals as building blocks, players create an army of genetically altered mutant monsters in a struggle to protect an unsuspecting world.
