Windows XP Joins Forces with ATI/AMD to Make Cyber X Games the Biggest Face-Off Yet for Gamers

NAPERVILLE, ILL -- Dec. 4, 2003 -- Young women and girls from all over the country will soon descend upon Las Vegas at the chances of winning one of the largest jackpots ever offered to female gamers, thanks to a recent agreement with Microsoft® Windows® XP to be a title sponsor of the newly named ATI/AMD Cyber X Games: Windows XP Championships. In addition to sponsoring the regular tournaments, the Windows XP commitment allows for radical expansion of the female gamer program at the championships taking place Jan. 8-11, 2004 in conjunction with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Microsoft is also sponsoring the Windows XP Female Pro Gaming Quake 3 Competition, the Windows XP Female Counter-Strike Team Event and the Windows Gamers of the Year Awards. $20,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the world's best gamers. Already the world's largest computer gaming festival with the largest purses in the history of gaming, Windows XP's participation significantly increases the prestige of competitive girl gaming within this historic event.

The ATI/AMD Cyber X Games: Windows XP Championships will highlight the world's top gamers competing on the most advanced hardware for a chance to win more than $600,000 in cash and prizes over the course of several qualifying tournaments and the championships. The event is being held in conjunction with CES in Las Vegas, Thursday - Sunday, Jan. 8 - 11, 2004.
