KONAMI OF AMERICA DELIVERS AMPHIBIAN FUN WITH FROGGER®: THE GREAT QUEST™ 

E-Rated PlayStation® 2 Family Game Now Available

Redwood City, CA – Nov. 19, 2001 – Konami of America announced today Frogger®: The Great Quest™ for the Sony PlayStation 2 is now available at retail locations across North America. This 3D re-imagining of Konami’s classic arcade franchise carries a suggested retail price of $49.99.

In this action/platform game, players assume the role of Frogger and navigate through a lush and fully interactive 3D environment on his quest to find the Princess of his dreams.  Frogger: The Great Quest will captivate players with its intriguing storyline, cinematic visuals and addictive gameplay.

Frogger’s adventures begin when our hero embarks on an epic quest in search of a Princess. In this next-generation version of the game, gameplay encompasses much more than simply hopping across a road. Now, players must guide the happy-go-lucky amphibian through a multitude of picturesque environments and challenging levels. In addition to climbing perilous cliff faces, jumping on dangling vines and maneuvering across platforms, Frogger also has the ability to spit “goobers” at enemies and bloat himself with air to float over longer distances when jumping. 

Frogger: The Great Quest will take the green hero from swampy towns to desert wastelands, navigating rivers and majestic waterfalls and exploring gigantic castles while collecting power-ups and avoiding hazards and enemies. Over 70 new characters inhabit Frogger’s mystical world, with creatures ranging from menacing mosquitoes, humorous toads to predatory cats – each contributing to the light-hearted and humorous tone of the game.
