Majesco Ships Blowout for PlayStation2 and Xbox
Side-Scrolling Shooter Offers Plenty of Bang for Holiday Budgets
EDISON, NJ, November 5, 2003 - Addressing the growing casual video game consumer with its value-priced lineup of great-playing video games, Majesco, one of the fastest-growing publishers of interactive entertainment software, today announced that BlowOut has shipped to retail stores nationwide. Developed by Terminal Reality, BlowOut will be available for a suggested retail price of $9.99 for the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and $19.99 on the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. In addition, BlowOut is scheduled to ship for the Nintendo GameCubeTM in December at a suggested retail price of $9.99.
"BlowOut has the look and feel of a next-generation shooter mixed with the flavor and style of one of the great side-scrollers of the past," said Ken Gold, Vice President of Marketing for Majesco. "BlowOut provides a thrilling game experience on all three major consoles, and all at a very attractive holiday price."
In BlowOut, gamers assume the role of Major John 'Dutch' Cane, a leader of a mercenary commando platoon assigned to stop a routine clone uprising on the massive battle platform, Honour Guard. Little does he know, the clones have already been exposed to a Xeno genome virus, which caused them to morph into a herd of horrifically aggressive creatures. These creatures plan on taking over the battle platform and spreading the deadly virus to the entire universe. To stop this alien outbreak, Major Cane will need his arsenal of powerful weapons and trusty jet pack to navigate the platform and destroy every last hostile alien.
