FORMER KANSAS STAR DREW GOODEN TAKES IT TO THE HOOP WITH EA SPORTS IN NCAA MARCH MADNESS 2003

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - November 4, 2002 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), announced today that the company has reached an agreement with former University of Kansas star and current Memphis Grizzlie Drew Gooden, naming him spokesman for EA SPORTS™ NCAA® March Madness™ 2003.  Gooden will appear on all packaging, advertising and marketing materials for NCAA March Madness 2003.  Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“It’s an honor for me to be chosen to be on the cover of a game like NCAA March Madness 2003,” said Gooden.  “I play a lot of video games and to see myself on the cover of an EA SPORTS game is a great feeling.  I can’t wait to sit down and play as the Kansas Jayhawks.”

Gooden was a first round draft pick (4th overall) in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.  Earning All-American honors at the University of Kansas, Gooden was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Year for 2001 and was runner-up for the National Player of the Year after leading the Jayhawks to the 2002 NCAA Final Four.  He is only the second player in Kansas history to record at least 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 100 blocks and 100 steals.

NCAA March Madness 2003 captures the spirit and excitement that is unique to college basketball with crazed fans in the stands, mascots on the court and fight songs being played in the arenas.  NCAA March Madness 2003 features an all new Dynasty Mode™ where players can recruit top high school players in the country, customize their non-conference schedule and play in the EA SPORTS™ Roundball Classic high school All-American game.  Gamers can also choose to play in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, the premiere early season tournament for college basketball.  NCAA March Madness 2003 will be available on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in late November.
