LEGACY INTERACTIVE® LAUNCHES ONLINE VERSION OF LAW & ORDER™ GAME ON NBC.COM

Online game leverages the latest Macromedia Flash technology and gives users a “taste” of the full, multimedia effects of “Law & Order: Dead on the Money” CD-ROM game

Hollywood, Calif., October 28, 2002 – Legacy Interactive announced today that the company has launched an online game on NBC.com that gives users a realistic playing experience of its recently released “Law & Order: Dead on the Money” CD-ROM game. One of the first game developers to leverage Macromedia Flash MX and the new Macromedia Flash Communications Server, Legacy Interactive provides players an online game environment where they can interact with 3D streaming video, images and audio – a huge leap from most online games that only provide audio, text and still images.

“We are extremely proud of the online game we’ve developed.” said Ariella Lehrer, chief executive officer of Legacy Interactive. “It gives consumers a true sample of our ‘Law & Order: Dead on the Money’ PC game,” “Utilizing Macromedia’s Flash MX and Flash Communications Server applications, we have created an online gaming experience that is very unique on the Internet; giving consumers all the multimedia bells and whistles of the actual CD-ROM game,” she added.

In the online game, players test their investigate skills at the scene of the high profile Wall Street murder case featured in the “Law & Order: Dead on the Money” CD-ROM game. The player partners with Detective Lennie Briscoe (actual voice of actor Jerry Orbach) at the crime scene to collect evidence that can be sent to the crime lab for further analyses. The player then visits the medical examiner’s office to view the body and review the autopsy report. After gathering the information, the player tests what he or she has learned by interviewing several key witnesses. Players receive a report card at the end of the game that evaluates their work. The game can then be replayed to improve scores. Those with top scores are in store for a special “Law & Order” surprise.

The “Law & Order: Dead on the Money,” CD-ROM game is set in the realistic world of criminal investigation and legal prosecution, where players experience both crime and justice from a dual perspective. Written by a freelance writer from the series, “Law & Order: Dead on the Money” features the voices of “Law & Order” stars Jerry Orbach, S. Epatha Merkerson and Elisabeth Röhm.

In the first half of the CD-ROM game, the player, together with Detective Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach), scour the crime scene for evidence, follow leads, interrogate witnesses and arrest one or more suspects before time runs out and Lieutenant Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson) throws them off the case. Next, the player teams up with Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn (Elisabeth Röhm) to prosecute the defendant. When the defense attorney undermines the case at the last minute, it’s up to the player to track down additional evidence and make deals with reluctant witnesses to reveal the truth and convince the jury to return a guilty verdict.

The game is being distributed by Vivendi Universal Games, and is available now at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Electronics Boutique and GameStop for a suggested retail price of $29.99. The CD-ROM game is for Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP.
