Empire Earth Ships to Retail Stores on November 13th
Sierra Wraps Up Development on Hotly-Anticipated Real-Time Strategy Game
BELLEVUE, WA (October 26, 2001) - Sierra today announced that Empire Earth(tm) will begin shipping to retail stores in the United States on November 13th and the rest of the world on November 16th.
"Empire Earth is set to revolutionize the real-time strategy genre," said Mike Ryder, president of Sierra. "No other RTS offers the breadth and richness of the Empire Earth universe."
Demand for Empire Earth has already been demonstrated through the game's retail pre-order sales success, as well as a massive beta-testing program that has been underway since August.
Anxious fans already have an opportunity to sample Empire Earth's gameplay. A special demonstration version of the game was released for free download via the Internet on October 19th. The demo contains several single-player scenarios intended to give gamers a taste of what Empire Earth has to offer and has already been downloaded over 100,000 times.
Empire Earth is rated "T" for teen audiences by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), and has a suggested retail price of $49.99. More information about the game can be found at
