Terminal Reality and Gathering of Developers Release 4x4 EVO Nationwide
First Cross-Platform Multi-Player Game in Stores Nationwide
Dallas, TX, October 26, 2000 - Start your engines! Terminal Reality and Gathering of Developers today announced that 4x4 EVO is available in stores nationwide. Developed by Terminal Reality for the PC, Mac and Dreamcast, this groundbreaking, 4x4 off-road game puts virtual drivers behind the wheel of their favorite real world SUV and/or truck and challenges them to race through a variety of detailed off-road environments. Taking gamers for the off-road ride of their lives, 4x4 EVO sports the latest array of real 4x4 vehicles, unprecedented graphics, and real-world physics. In addition the game supports Internet multi-player options between Dreamcasts, Macs, and PCs. Published by developer-driven computer and video game publisher Gathering of Developers and distributed by Take Two Interactive, 4x4 EVO is available for a suggested retail price of $39.99 for the PC and Mac versions, and $49.99 for the Dreamcast version.
Terminal Reality's 4x4 EVO takes advantage of today's latest technological advances and delivers amazingly realistic off-road action, said Mike Wilson, CEO of Gathering of Developers. Gamers will be amazed by its cross platform playability and realistically detailed trucks and courses.
4x4 EVO takes gamers through a total of 15 courses, each with its own distinctive design, music score and difficulty level. In addition to contending with the other vehicles, players will be challenged by a collection of variables such as gates, trees, and tractors in junkyards or on-coming traffic in construction zones. Virtual drivers choose their own path as they begin with a base truck and compete in a series of off-road races to win cash. Drivers can stop and rewind the action through a playback feature and can view the whole race again from multiple camera angles, and even different racers' perspectives. Players can also use GameSpy's Buddy system for instant messaging and keeping track of their fellow drivers.
